چکیده

Secure user authentication is an important issue in wireless environments. Various user authentication schemes have been proposed in recent years. In 2012, Mun et al. presented an enhanced secure anonymous authentication scheme for roaming service in global mobility networks. However, Mun et al.’s scheme is not secure. In this paper, we show that Mun et al.’s scheme can not provide the mutual authentication between MU and FA, and it also can not resist the insider attack by HA and MU, and the MU’s forgery attack. We also propose a new mutual-authentication scheme for a smart card in wireless communications in this paper. The proposed scheme not only provides the user anonymity, mutual authentication, but also resists the insider attacks, forgery attacks and replay attacks.

Cryptanalysis of Two-Factor Authenticated Key Exchange Protocol in Public Wireless LANs

In Public Wireless LANs(PWLANs), user anonymity is an essential issue. Recently, Juang et al. proposed an anonymous authentication and key exchange protocol using smart cards in PWLANs. They claimed that their proposed scheme provided identity privacy, mutual authentication, and half-forward secrecy. In this paper, we point out that Juang et al.'s protocol is vulnerable to the stolen-verifier a...

Employing Secure and Efficient Password-Authenticated Key Exchange in Wireless Networks

The password-authenticated key exchange (PAKE) is an important tool to secure wireless communications. To counter possible malicious attacks in wireless communications, this paper develops a stronger new cross-realm client-to-client (C2C) PAKE protocol based on the smart card framework agreement. Employing the client passwords, smart card information and server private keys, the new PAKE protoc...

Efficient remote mutual authentication and key agreement

A smart card based scheme is very practical to authenticate remote users. In 2004, Juang [Juang WS. Efficient password authenticated key agreement using smart cards. Computers and Security 2004;23:167–73] proposed a mutual authentication scheme using smart cards. The advantages in the scheme include freely chosen passwords, no verification tables, low communication and computation cost, and ses...

Security Enhanced Anonymous Multiserver Authenticated Key Agreement Scheme Using Smart Cards and Biometrics

An anonymous user authentication scheme allows a user, who wants to access a remote application server, to achieve mutual authentication and session key establishment with the server in an anonymous manner. To enhance the security of such authentication schemes, recent researches combined user's biometrics with a password. However, these authentication schemes are designed for single server env...
